Hiroo Johar is a popular Indian producer. She was born on 18th March 1943 in Rahon, British India. Hiroo is best known for her roles in Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani (2013) and My Name Is Khan (2010). Apart, Hiroo also will be a produce of the new upcoming Indian movie Kill (2024).
In addition to being the mother of well-known Indian filmmaker Karan Johar, she is also a writer. She began her career as an associate producer on the 1980 hit film Dostana.
She participated in the production of films like Agneepath (1990), Kuch Kuch Hota Hai (1998), Kal Ho Naa Ho (2003), and Kaal (2005). As a producer, she made the Bollywood film “Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna” in 2006. In addition to Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani (2013), Ae Dil Hai Mushkil (2016), Raazi (2018), and Bedhadak she has produced several successful films.
Hiroo Johar was born into a Punjabi Family. Her father was an accountant in the PWD division of the British Punjab administration. She is one of eight siblings; including best-known Indian filmmakers BR Chopra and Yash Raj Chopra.
Hiroo was married to Yash Johar, an Indian film producer. Hiroo is the mother of Karan Johar. Ravi Chopra and Aditya Chopra are the nephews of Hiroo. Rani Mukerji is married to Aditya Chopra and is the daughter-in-law of Hiroo. She has two grandchildren namely Yash and Roohi.
