Hironori Kujiraoka (鯨岡弘識) is a Japanese Screenwriter & Director. He was born on 20th May 1993 in Japan. Kujiraoka first attracted attention with Bungo Shounen! Johnny’s Jrs de Meisaku wo Yomitoita (2021), a unique literary adaptation project featuring members of Johnny’s Jr. The series reflected his ability to modernize and humanize classic Japanese literature. In 2022, he gained wider recognition with Me no Doku Sugiru Shokuba no Futari, a romantic workplace drama that blended comedy and heartfelt moments. He followed this with Sorette Pakuri Janai Desu ka? (2023), a drama that tackled intellectual property issues through an engaging corporate lens, and Zeicho: “Haraenai” ni wa Wake ga Aru (2023), a socially-aware series about tax collection.
In 2024, Kujiraoka continued to build his reputation with Machinami Terasu Yatsura, Calm Before the Storm, and Catch Up, each demonstrating his signature mix of realism and emotional insight. His 2025 project Seishun Gestalt Hokai delves into youth identity and psychological collapse, further proving his depth as a storyteller. Hironori Kujiraoka’s thoughtful direction and meaningful scripts make him one of Japan’s most promising emerging voices in television and film.
