Haru (波瑠) is a Japanese actress and model, She was born on 17th June 1991 in Adachi, Tokyo, Japan. Haru began her journey in the entertainment industry in 2004 at the young age of 13 when she was scouted by the prestigious Hori Agency. Her first acting opportunity came in 2006 with a role in the WOWOW television drama Taigan no Kanojo, marking her screen debut. The following year, in 2007, she expanded her presence in the fashion world by becoming an exclusive model for the popular teen magazine Seventeen.
Venturing into music, Haru released her first single, I Miss You / Message: Asu no Boku e, on April 16, 2008. The single gained visibility after being featured as the ending theme for the TBS variety show Kami Summers. Her acting career continued to blossom, and in 2010, she took on her first lead role in the live-action adaptation of the beloved novel and anime Maria-sama ga Miteru.

A turning point in her public recognition came in 2012 when she starred in a commercial for NTT DoCoMo. The commercial significantly boosted her profile, and from 2012 to 2015, she became an exclusive model for the fashion magazine non-no. In March 2015, Haru reached a career milestone when she was selected as the lead actress for the 93rd NHK morning drama (Asadora), Asa ga Kita, cementing her place as a household name in Japan.
On January 1, 2018, she opened her official Instagram account, greeting fans with a cheerful New Year message in a video post. After nearly two decades with Hori Agency, Haru announced on December 25, 2024, that she would be parting ways with the agency at the end of the year, concluding a 19-year chapter in her professional life.
