After completing his schooling at Modern School, Barakhamba in New Delhi, Gurpal Singh faced uncertainty about his college admissions due to his low grades. However, a fortuitous opportunity arose when Kirori Mal College at Delhi University offered him a chance through their dramatics society, The Players. After auditioning, he secured admission, marking the beginning of his journey into the performing arts.

Determined to further hone his craft, Singh pursued a Film Direction course at the Film and Television Institute of India (FTII). He gained valuable experience by assisting on feature films and working on various documentaries, short films, and television programs. His big break as an actor came through his entertaining pranks on the candid camera show Chhupa Rustam, which brought him widespread recognition and opened doors to numerous roles in television and films.

Beyond his professional life, Gurpal Singh is known for his love of travel and food. He humorously claims to work only when absolutely necessary, preferring to spend his time doing nothing amidst the serenity of mountains and forests. His laid-back approach to life and passion for nature reflect a personality that balances the demands of the entertainment industry with a deep appreciation for leisure and exploration.
