In the year 1967, Goparaju Ramana joined a theatre group ‘Balanadam’ and debuted in a theatre play ‘Manavuni Adugujadallo’ written by Avula Sambasiva Rao. He has acted in more than 1500 theatre plays like ‘Sakkubai,’ ‘Strike,’ and ‘Polish Bhayya.’ Later, he performed in various programmes of All India Radio. He has acted in various commercial dramas with his friends. He has performed in many historical and mythological plays like ‘Anubandhalu,’ ‘Raktajwala,’ ‘Norumuyi,’ ‘Charitraku Chamatalu Padutunnayi,’ and ‘Nerasthudevaru.’

Later, Goparaju Ramana acted in Telugu TV serials like ‘Padmavyuham’ (2013), ‘Samgharshana’ (2016), ‘Mahalakshmi’ (2017), and ‘Vidhi’ (2018). Some of his Teulgu films are ‘Asta Chemm’ (2008), ‘Sundaraniki Tondarekkuva’ (2010), ‘Betting Bangarraju’ (2010), and ‘Okasari’ (2016). He has also directed a few Tamil films including ‘Amaran’ (1992), ‘Madhana Manmadhana’ (2012), and ‘Bheeman Asthinapuram’ (2012). In 2020, he came into the limelight with the Telugu film ‘Middle Class Melodies’ (2020) in which he played the role of Anand Devarakonda.
