Gippy Grewal is an India Actor, Singer, Film Director, and Producer. He was born on 2 January 1983 in Ludhiana, Punjab, India. He made his debut with the album Chakkh Lai, which was produced by Atul Sharma.
His albums include Aaja Ve Mitraa, Mele Mitraan De, Phulkari 2, and many more. Among the audience, he became known as a famous Punjabi musician. The eighth album he released in 2021, “Desi Rockstar”, was a huge hit and was well received by the public.
The biggest song of his career was ” Angreji Beat” with Yo Yo Honey Singh after releasing the album. From 2010 to 2014, he was the leading artist in the Punjabi music industry.
He was featured in the Bollywood film Cocktail in 2012 with his song “Angreji Beat”. His 2013 single “Hello Hello” was filmed in Las Vegas. Sandwell and Birmingham Melas were among his 2014 performances. He was a wedding singer before he became famous.
Grewal made his film debut in 2010 in the Punjabi-language movie Mel Karade Rabba. A year later, in April 2012, he released Mirza – The Untold Story, which had the highest opening for a Punjabi film at the time.
His next movie, Carry on Jatta, was released in July 2012 and had the second-highest opening and total collections for a Punjabi film. Grewal released four films in 2013: Singh vs Kaur, Lucky Di Unlucky Story, Best of Luck, and Bhaji in Problem.
He appeared in the dramatic thriller Jatt James Bond in 2014. In 2014, he starred in the comedy film Double Di Trouble. His voice was dubbed in the Punjabi version of A Good Day to Die Hard, the first Hollywood movie to be dubbed in Punjabi.
A guest appearance in Dharam Sankat Mein in 2015 marked Grewal’s Bollywood debut, portraying pop star Manjeet Manchala. The romantic-comedy film Second Hand Husband marked his full acting debut in Bollywood.
His first directorial debut Ardaas launched his own production house Humble Motion Pictures in 2016. He starred in Lucknow Central along with Farhan Akhtar in Jatta 2 released on 1 June 2018. With the launch of “Big Daddy Films” in 2022, he launched a new production company.
Guppe Grewal is married and his wife’s name is Roneet Grewal. There were three sons named Girpa Grewal (Shinda), Yakomkar Grewal, and Grubs Grewal.
