Fans Criticize Faysal Quraishi Overacting in Raaja Rani

Faysal Quraishi’s latest role in HUM TV’s new drama Raaja Rani is receiving heavy criticism from viewers, particularly for what many are calling overacting and an unconvincing portrayal. The character, a mentally challenged man struggling with emotional and social maturity, hasn’t landed well with fans—many of whom believe the role simply doesn’t suit the veteran actor.

The drama features a strong cast including Hina Afridi, Arez Ahmed, Javed Sheikh, and Salma Zafar, with direction by Amin Iqbal and production by BJ Productions and Momina Duraid. The story, penned by Sana Zafar, centers around a grown man dealing with delayed mental growth, played by Faysal Quraishi.

While the concept has potential, audiences are finding it hard to connect with Faysal in this role. Viewers feel that the character might have been more believable if portrayed by a younger actor or someone with previous success in similar roles—like Imran Ashraf, who famously played Bhola.

Social media has been buzzing with criticism. One viewer commented, “Every actor now wants to chase Bhola-level fame, but this doesn’t suit him.” Others pointed out the age mismatch, saying the role required someone who looked and acted much younger. There’s also concern over the heavy makeup making the character appear even more unconvincing.
