Faizan Sheikh Explains Negative Role in Drama Sher

Faizan Sheikh is a Pakistani actor known for his versatile performances in hit dramas like Mera Naam Yousuf Hai, Saaya, Ready Steady Go, and Gustakh. Currently, he’s making waves with his role as the villain in the ARY Digital blockbuster Sher, a drama that is also gaining attention in neighboring India.

In a recent appearance on Vicky Khan’s podcast, Faizan Sheikh explained why he chose to play a negative character in Sher. He said that alongside the hero (Danish Taimoor), the villain role is usually high-stakes and intense. He believed it was a great opportunity to enhance his acting skills and push his limits. He felt that the chance to play a complex character opposite a leading star was too good to pass up.

During the podcast, Faizan also addressed his close friendship with Aadi Adeel. He clarified that their friendship is still strong, but they rarely appear together because Aadi has been busy with hosting projects while Faizan prefers to focus on acting. He emphasized that true friendship doesn’t need to be showcased on social media—they meet, but choose to keep it private.

Faizan didn’t stop at drama—he also commented on the recent ban on Pakistani artists in India. He labeled the move “wrong,” highlighting that arts have no borders. He pointed out that even cricket matches are affected. He defended Pakistani artists wanting to work in India, saying there’s nothing wrong with pursuing opportunities abroad, especially when visibility and growth are important.

On cricket, Faizan named Babar Azam as his favorite player. Even though Babar isn’t performing at his best currently, Faizan believes this is the time when he needs everyone’s support and encouragement.
