Faisal Rehman is a Pakistani actor, screenwriter & director. He was born on 17th September 1966 in Lahore, Pakistan. Actor, Faisal is famous for his Izn-e-Rukhsat (2016), Gumrah (2017), Kaisi Aurat Houn Main (2018), Aatish (2018), Kahan Ho Tum (2018) and Wafa Lazim To Nahin (2019). Faisal Rehman made his acting debut at just 14 in Nazar-ul-Islam’s Nahi Abhi Nahi (1980), starring alongside the legendary Shabnam. Over the years, he became a prominent figure in Pakistani cinema and television.
In 2009, he co-founded The Actors’ Collective (ACT), an association for film, theatre, and television artists in Pakistan, based in Lahore. Apart from acting, he has directed and written numerous telefilms and short films. His critically acclaimed World Ka Centre (2002) depicts Lahore’s lower-middle-class struggles and young men aspiring to move to the United States. The film won the Special Jury Award at the 2002 Kara Film Festival, cementing his reputation as a talented filmmaker with a keen eye for social realism and compelling storytelling.
Faisal Rehman’s ancestors trace their lineage to the Mohammadzai clan of Kabul, part of the Barakzai branch of the Durrani confederacy, linking them to Ahmad Shah Abdali. In 1905, his family migrated to India during British rule. His father, Massud-ur-Rehman, was a cinematographer and the younger brother of Bollywood actor Rehman. Faisal’s brother, Fasih Ur Rehman, is a renowned classical dancer, continuing the family’s artistic legacy.
