Ernesto Díaz Espinoza is an Chilean editor, film director and writer. He was born on 10th June 1978 in Santiago, Chile. He is best known for his films Kiltro (2006), Mirageman (2007), The ABCs of Death (2012), Bring Me the Head of the Machine Gun Woman (2012), Redeemer (2014), The Fist of the Condor (2023) and Diablo (2025).
In 2012, Chilean filmmaker Ernesto Díaz Espinoza wrote and directed Bring Me the Head of the Machine Gun Woman, a bold and stylistic action film that blended the aesthetics of 1970s blaxploitation with Latin American culture. The film quickly gained cult status for its unique visual flair and genre fusion. That same year, he contributed a short film to the international horror anthology The ABCs of Death, showcasing his versatility in genre storytelling.
In 2014, Espinoza released Santiago Violenta, a crime comedy described as “A Story of Guns and Mixed Drinks.” The film premiered at the prestigious Valdivia International Film Festival, where it resonated strongly with audiences and earned the Audience Award for Best Chilean Movie. Also in 2014, he directed Redeemer, a modern western infused with martial arts action.
