Eleanor Elizabeth Bamber (born 2 February 1997) is an English actress recognized for her versatile roles in both stage and screen productions. She rose to prominence through her award-winning performance as Hilde in The Lady from the Sea at the Donmar Warehouse in 2017, earning third prize at the Ian Charleson Awards. On television, she is well known for her work in acclaimed series such as Les Misérables (2018), The Trial of Christine Keeler (2019–2020), The Serpent (2021), and the Disney+ fantasy series Willow (2022).
Born in Surrey, England, Bamber was raised alongside her younger brother, Lucas. Her father, David, works in finance, while her mother, Zoe, manages her career. Bamber received a drama scholarship at Hurst Lodge School and later attended Wellington College for Sixth Form. She began acting early, joining the Players’ Theatre Club at age 12, and just a year later, she was cast by Sir Trevor Nunn in Aspects of Love at the Menier Chocolate Factory.
Bamber’s early stage success led to further opportunities, including a leading role in High Society at The Old Vic, which earned her a nomination for Best Newcomer in a Musical at the Evening Standard Theatre Awards.
