Edi Mūe Gathegi is a Kenyan-American actor known for his versatile roles across film and television. He gained early recognition with his role as Dr. Jeffrey Cole in the medical drama House, and later appeared in notable films such as Gone Baby Gone (2007), Twilight (2008), and X-Men: First Class (2011), where he portrayed the mutant Darwin. Gathegi has demonstrated a strong presence in genre television, including roles as Baron Jacobee in AMC’s Into the Badlands and as Matias Solomon in NBC’s The Blacklist and its spin-off The Blacklist: Redemption. He also starred in the tech drama series Startup on Crackle, showcasing his ability to carry complex leading roles.
More recently, Gathegi has taken on a major role in Apple TV+’s acclaimed science fiction series For All Mankind (2022–present), playing Dev Ayesa, a visionary entrepreneur. His work in this series reflects his continued evolution as an actor, embracing characters with depth and ambition. Looking ahead, Gathegi is set to join the DC Universe as Mister Terrific in James Gunn’s upcoming Superman (2025), marking a new milestone in his career as he steps into the superhero genre once again, this time as a central figure.
