Dominic Gerard Francis Eagleton West (born 15 October 1969) is a versatile English actor, director, producer, and musician, renowned for his compelling performances across television and film. He is best known for portraying Detective Jimmy McNulty in the critically acclaimed HBO series The Wire (2002–2008) and Noah Solloway in Showtime’s The Affair (2014–2019), the latter earning him a Golden Globe nomination. More recently, West gained recognition for his portrayal of Charles, Prince of Wales, in The Crown (2022–2023), which brought him additional Golden Globe and Emmy nominations. His television work also includes standout roles in The Hour, Appropriate Adult (for which he won a BAFTA), and Les Misérables (2018).
West began his screen career with Out of Hours (1998) and had early film appearances in Richard III (1995) and 28 Days (2000).
