Dimple Kapadia is a Senior Indian Actress. She was born on 8th June 1957 in Bombay, India. She works in the industry since the 90s. Apart, Dimple will be a part of the new upcoming Indian movie Murder Mubarak (2024). As a child, she dreamed of becoming an actress and received her first opportunity through her father’s efforts. In 1973, Raj Kapoor discovered her and cast her in the title role of his teen romance Bobby (1973), which was a major commercial success and gained her wide recognition.
A year later, she made a comeback with Saagar. The Filmfare Award for Best Actress went to both Bobby and Saagar. As a result of the work, she did in Hindi cinema over the next decade, she gained fame as one of the leading actresses in the industry.

Her screen appearances in the following decades were limited as Kapadia became more selective about her work starting in the mid-1990s. In the American production Leela (2002) and Dil Chahta Hai (2001), she played middle-aged, complicated women courted by younger men. Hum Kaun Hai? is one of her later credits.
Her biggest success was in Being Cyrus (2006), Luck by Chance (2009), Dabangg (2010), Cocktail (2012), and Finding Fanny (2014), but more recently she starred in Pyaar Mein Twist (2005), Phir Kabhi (2008), Tum Milo Toh Sahi (2010) and What the Fish (2013).
There was some criticism in the media that these roles broke away from the usual portrayals of women her age in Hindi films. Her performance in Tenet (2020) brought her even greater recognition.
She married Rajesh Khanna at the age of 15. The couple has two daughters Twinkle Khanna and Rinke Khanna. The couple separated in April 1982 and she went to her parent’s house with her daughters. They separated because she didn’t give time to her career. Her daughter is also actresses. Twinkle is the wife of Akshay Kumar and Rinke lefts acting after marriage.
