Daniel Sallis Huston is an American-British actor, director, and screenwriter, born on May 14, 1962. He is part of the distinguished Huston filmmaking family, the son of legendary director John Huston and the half-brother of Academy Award-winning actress Anjelica Huston. Known for his intense screen presence and versatile roles, Huston earned early acclaim with Ivans Xtc (2000), which earned him a nomination for the Independent Spirit Award for Best Male Lead.

Throughout the 2000s and 2010s, Huston built a prolific career appearing in critically acclaimed and commercially successful films such as 21 Grams (2003), The Aviator and Birth (2004), The Constant Gardener (2005), Marie Antoinette and Children of Men (2006), The Kingdom and 30 Days of Night (2007), Robin Hood (2010), Hitchcock (2012), Big Eyes (2014), Wonder Woman (2017), and Angel Has Fallen (2019). On television, he portrayed memorable characters such as The Axeman in American Horror Story: Coven, Massimo Dolcefino in Freak Show, and Ben “The Butcher” Diamond in Magic City.

In recent years, Huston continued his streak with appearances in Yellowstone (2018–19), Succession (2019), and voicing Jonas Backstein in the 2025 sci-fi series Common Side Effects. Alongside his acting career, he has directed several films, including Mr. North (1988), The Maddening (1995), and The Last Photograph (2017), showcasing his talents behind the camera and maintaining his family’s cinematic legacy.
