Cody Garrett Runnels Rhodes, born June 30, 1985, is an American professional wrestler best known for his work in WWE, where he currently performs on the SmackDown brand. He is the son of wrestling legend Dusty Rhodes and the half-brother of Dustin Rhodes (Goldust). Cody first made a name for himself as an amateur wrestler, winning two Georgia state championships before signing with WWE in 2006. Starting in WWE’s developmental territory, Ohio Valley Wrestling (OVW), he became a Triple Crown Champion there before moving up to the main roster.

From 2007 to 2016, Rhodes captured multiple championships in WWE, including eight world tag team titles and two Intercontinental Championships. During this period, he portrayed several memorable gimmicks, most notably Stardust, a cosmic, theatrical persona inspired by his brother’s Goldust character. After requesting his release in 2016, Cody embarked on a successful run on the independent scene and internationally, wrestling for New Japan Pro-Wrestling (NJPW), Ring of Honor (ROH), and Impact Wrestling (TNA). He became a major player by winning titles such as the ROH World Championship and IWGP United States Heavyweight Championship.

In 2018, Rhodes, along with Matt and Nick Jackson, organized All In, a landmark independent wrestling event that led directly to the founding of All Elite Wrestling (AEW) in 2019. As a founding executive vice president of AEW, Cody was a central figure in the company’s early success, winning the TNT Championship three times.

Cody made a blockbuster return to WWE in 2022 and has since achieved major milestones: winning back-to-back Royal Rumble matches in 2023 and 2024, winning the Undisputed WWE Championship, and headlining WrestleMania 39, both nights of 40, and 41. Beyond wrestling, he’s also been active in television, serving as a judge on the Go-Big Show and starring alongside his wife Brandi Rhodes in the reality series Rhodes to the Top.
