Brian Jordan Alvarez, born on July 9, 1987, in Manhattan, New York City, is an American actor, comedian, and filmmaker. He is best known for creating and starring in the FX comedy series English Teacher. Alvarez is also recognized for his recurring roles as Estéfan in Will & Grace (2018–2020) and Wesley in Jane the Virgin (2015–2016). He has appeared in films such as M3GAN and 80 for Brady, and is known for his self-produced films and series, including the 2016 web series The Gay and Wondrous Life of Caleb Gallo.
Born to Paul Jordan, an electrical engineer, and Angela Jordan Alvarez, a Spanish instructor, Brian is of Colombian descent through his mother and has roots from the American South on his father’s side. He speaks Spanish fluently and has a sister named Catalina.
