Aya Matsuki (松木彩) is a Japanese television director affiliated with TBS Television. Born in Sendai, she graduated from Miyagi Daiichi Girls’ High School and Tohoku University before joining TBS in 2011. Since then, Matsuki has directed a range of acclaimed dramas spanning genres from medical thrillers to romantic comedies.

One of her notable works is Tokyo MER: Mobile Emergency Room (2021), a high-stakes medical drama that follows a mobile emergency response team navigating life-and-death situations across Tokyo. The series’ success led to a feature film adaptation in 2023, also directed by Matsuki. In 2024, she co-directed Kururi: Dare ga Watashi to Koi wo Shita?, a romantic comedy-mystery about a young woman with amnesia trying to rediscover her identity and past relationships.

Matsuki’s earlier work includes writing an episode of Ultraman R/B (2018), part of the long-running tokusatsu franchise. Her diverse portfolio also features directing episodes of Heaven and Hell: Soul Exchange (2021), Naoki Hanzawa (2020), and The Good Wife (2019), showcasing her versatility in handling various storytelling styles and genres.
