Arturo Castro (born November 26, 1985) is a Guatemalan actor known for his versatility in both comedy and drama across film and television. He rose to prominence for his role as Jaimé Castro on Broad City (Comedy Central), where his warm, witty portrayal made him a fan favorite.
He expanded his profile with a dramatic turn as David Rodríguez, the son of Cali Cartel boss Miguel Rodríguez Orejuela, in Narcos (Netflix, Season 3), and took on the satirical role of Pablo Escobar in the parody biopic Weird: The Al Yankovic Story (The Roku Channel).
Before moving to the U.S., Castro hosted the Guatemalan national TV show Conexion. After relocating to New York City, he trained at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts, where he met Abbi Jacobson and Ilana Glazer, leading to his casting in Broad City.
He starred in Ang Lee’s Billy Lynn’s Long Halftime Walk (2016) as “Mango” Montoya and appeared in the action thriller Bushwick (2017). In 2019, he created and starred in Alternatino with Arturo Castro, a sketch comedy series on Comedy Central exploring the complexities of being a modern Latino man. Though it ran for only one season, the show earned praise for its originality and cultural commentary.
