Andy Samberg (born David A. J. Samberg; August 18, 1978) is an American comedian, actor, writer, musician, and producer best known for his energetic style and absurdist humor. A breakout star from Saturday Night Live (2005–2012), he helped revolutionize the show’s format through the wildly popular “SNL Digital Shorts” as part of the comedy trio The Lonely Island, alongside Akiva Schaffer and Jorma Taccone.

Beyond sketch comedy, Samberg has enjoyed a successful film and television career, starring in hits such as Hot Rod (2007), Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping (2016), and the critically acclaimed Palm Springs (2020). He also voiced characters in the Hotel Transylvania and Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs franchises. From 2013 to 2021, he led the cast of the police sitcom Brooklyn Nine-Nine as Jake Peralta, a role that earned him a Golden Globe Award. Samberg continues to be a prominent voice in comedy, both on-screen and behind the scenes as a producer and writer.
