Allison Howell Williams is an American actress known for her work in both television and film, particularly in the horror genre. Williams first gained recognition through YouTube and as a member of the improv comedy troupe Just Add Water, but her breakthrough came with her role as Marnie Michaels in the HBO comedy-drama series Girls (2012–2017). This performance earned her a Critics’ Choice Award nomination.
She later expanded her career with notable television roles, including a part in the Netflix series A Series of Unfortunate Events (2018–2019) and the Showtime miniseries Fellow Travelers (2023). However, Williams’ film breakthrough occurred with her starring role in Jordan Peele’s acclaimed psychological horror film Get Out (2017), where she earned nominations at the MTV Movie Awards and the Screen Actors Guild Awards.
Williams has continued to build her reputation in the horror genre, starring in and producing the successful comedy-horror film M3GAN (2022), a film about a sentient AI doll. The film was a commercial hit, and she is set to return for the sequel, M3GAN 2.0 (2025). Her prominent work in horror has earned her the title of “scream queen,” solidifying her as a key figure in contemporary horror cinema.
