Hadsa drama banned by PEMRA. The Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) on Wednesday issued a ban on airing the Hadsa drama in response to a complaint from lawyer Khadija Siddiqi. Geo television network’s controversial Hadsa drama is reportedly banned now. the drama was already making headlines because of portraying a real life story of a rapr survivor.

According to the social workers, the drama was hurting the sentiments of millions of rape survivors. The main lead of the drama was played by Hadiqa Kiani, who was shown to be a rape victim in the drama. Hadsa is written by Zanjabeel Asim Shah and it is produced by Shazia Wajahat and Wajahat Rauf.

The PEMRA in its notification said that it had received numerous complaints from viewers with regard plot/ theme of the drama serial on its Twitter handle @reportpemra.

“Viewers are criticizing the plot/theme of the drama serial ‘Hadsa’ based on a real incident that took place at Lahore-Sialkot motorway,” the notification added.
