Pakistani Actress Humaira Asghar Buried in Her Hometown Lahore

Pakistani actress and model Humaira Asghar was laid to rest in her hometown Lahore, days after the shocking discovery of her body from her apartment in Karachi. The 42-year-old actress had been living alone in a rented flat in Defence Phase 6 since 2018. Her death remained unnoticed for nearly eight months, and her decomposed body was only found when a bailiff arrived to vacate the apartment on court orders. According to reports, Humaira Asghar’s body was brought to Lahore by her brother and brother-in-law from Karachi. Her father was briefly present and shared a short statement, while her uncle spoke to the media in detail about the family’s grief and the circumstances surrounding her death.

Authorities reported that Humaira had no contact with anyone since September 2024. Her landlord had filed a case in court to vacate the flat due to unpaid rent. When the court-appointed bailiff arrived to carry out the order, he received no response despite repeated knocking. The door was eventually broken, and a strong smell filled the apartment. Inside, Humaira’s fully decomposed body was found lying on the floor. It was estimated that she had passed away around eight months earlier.

Initially, Humaira Asghar’s family refused to claim her body, which led to criticism on social media and within the industry. Later, on the request of police and due to public pressure, her brother and brother-in-law traveled to Karachi to receive the body and arrange the funeral. Many actors and fans expressed their sorrow and disappointment over how such a talented woman could be forgotten so silently.
