As the holy month of Ramadan draws to a close, Muslims across Pakistan are eagerly preparing to celebrate Eid-ul-Fitr, a joyous occasion that marks the end of fasting. The special Eid prayer, a significant part of the festivities, brings together communities in mosques and open prayer grounds (Eidgahs) to offer gratitude and seek blessings. To facilitate smooth arrangements, authorities have released the official prayer schedules for major cities, ensuring that worshippers can plan their day accordingly and participate in this spiritual gathering without any inconvenience.

Neighboring Rawalpindi will also observe Eid prayers at various locations. The central Eidgah at Liaquat Bagh will host worshippers at 8:00 AM, welcoming thousands of attendees from across the city. Meanwhile, Usmania Mosque on Asghar Mall Road has scheduled its prayer session for 7:30 AM.
Karachi Prayer Timings
Pakistan’s largest city, Karachi, has arranged different timings based on religious sects and local mosque preferences. Fiqa Jafari mosques will begin their prayers at later times compared to others. For instance, the Khoja Jamat Mosque in Kharadar will hold Eid prayers at 8:30 AM, while Masjid Yathrib, located in Defence Phase 4, has set its prayer time for 8:00 AM. On the other hand, Fiqa Hanafi mosques such as Badr Mosque in Paper Market and Faizan-e-Murshid Mosque in Pakistan Chowk will conduct their Eid prayers earlier, starting at 6:45 AM. This schedule allows worshippers across different sects to attend prayers at times convenient to them.
Lahore Prayer Timings
In Lahore, a city renowned for its historic mosques, special Eid prayers will be conducted at various locations. The magnificent Badshahi Mosque, a symbol of Mughal-era architecture, will hold its Eid prayer at 8:30 AM. Meanwhile, the equally historic Wazir Khan Mosque, located in the heart of the Walled City, will commence its prayers earlier at 7:00 AM. The Central Eidgah on Charsadda Road, one of the most frequented prayer grounds in the city, will hold Eid prayers at 7:00 AM. Similarly, the historic Mahabat Khan Mosque, known for its exquisite design, will also conduct prayers at 7:00 AM, providing a spiritual and historical setting for worshippers.
Quetta Prayer Timings
In Quetta, multiple venues have been designated for Eid prayers to accommodate the city’s diverse population. The Liaquat Park Eidgah will conduct its Eid prayer at 7:15 AM, followed by the Science College Ground at 7:30 AM. Additionally, Sandeman School has arranged for Eid prayers at 8:00 AM, catering to those who may need a slightly later timing.
Prayer Timings in Other Cities
Apart from the major metropolitan centers, several smaller cities and towns have also announced their Eid prayer schedules. In Vehari, Sargodha, Chiniot, and Nankana Sahib, local authorities have coordinated with mosque committees to set prayer times, ensuring that residents can partake in the celebrations without confusion. Specific timings for these cities vary by location, and residents are advised to check with their local mosques for details.
Security Measures and Public Advisory
To ensure a safe and peaceful Eid celebration, authorities have urged worshippers to cooperate with security personnel stationed at mosques and Eidgahs. Given the large gatherings, law enforcement agencies will be deployed to manage crowds and prevent any untoward incidents. Worshippers are advised to arrive early, follow designated entry and exit routes, and remain vigilant. In addition, families are encouraged to keep an eye on children in crowded areas and adhere to any local guidelines issued by mosque administrations.
As Eid-ul-Fitr 2025 approaches, the atmosphere is filled with joy, gratitude, and anticipation. With the announced prayer schedules in place, worshippers can now prepare to celebrate this auspicious day with devotion and unity. May this Eid bring peace, prosperity, and happiness to all!
