These efforts are part of the Canada Immigration Levels Plan for 2025–2027. According to this plan, Canada aims to welcome 395,000 new permanent residents in 2025. Out of these, 232,150 newcomers will be selected through economic immigration streams, which include programs like Express Entry and PNP.
This shows that Canada is depending heavily on skilled workers to help grow its economy and fill job gaps in different provinces.
Canada’s Express Entry draws continue to open doors for skilled professionals worldwide. The recent PNP-specific draws show the country’s commitment to bringing in people who can contribute to the economy and fill gaps in the labor market. With nearly 32,000 ITAs issued in just the first few months of 2025, the Canada Visa Entry process remains one of the most efficient and welcoming immigration systems globally.
If you’re planning to apply for Canadian permanent residency, now is a great time to prepare your documents, improve your CRS score, and stay updated on the latest Express Entry draws.
After Getting an Invitation to Apply (ITA)
If a person receives an Invitation to Apply (ITA) under the Canada Visa Entry system, they must submit a full application within 60 days. This application needs to include several important documents:
- A valid passport or travel document
- Birth certificate
- Proof of work experience (like job letters or pay slips)
- A police clearance certificate from every country lived in for more than 6 months
- Medical exam results from an IRCC-approved doctor
- Proof of settlement funds (bank statements showing enough money to support yourself and your family)
- Photographs of yourself and any family members included in your application
You can also include your spouse, common-law partner, and dependent children in your application. According to Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC), children are considered dependents if they are:
- Under the age of 22 and not married
- Over 22 with a mental or physical condition and have been financially dependent on their parents since before turning 22
What’s Happening Inside the Express Entry Pool?
As of April 14, 2025, there were 244,282 profiles in the Express Entry pool. The group with a CRS score between 451 and 500 had the highest number of candidates, with over 71,000 profiles. Next was the 401–450 score range, which had more than 67,000 profiles.
Interestingly, there has also been an increase in the number of profiles with lower CRS scores, such as in the 301–350 and 0–300 ranges. This may be due to recent rule changes, like the removal of CRS points for arranged employment, which has slightly changed how candidates are ranked.
Do Job Offers Still Matter for Canada Visa Entry?
Even though job offers no longer give extra CRS points directly, they still play an important role in the overall process of getting a Canada Visa Entry. Many immigration programs, including the:
- Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP)
- Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP)
- Provincial Nominee Programs (PNPs)
still consider valid job offers as a key part of eligibility.
So, while a job offer might not boost your CRS score anymore, it can still help you qualify for specific immigration streams, especially if a Canadian province is looking for someone with your skills.
