BZU Multan Extends Summer Vacations Until September 7, 2025

The administration of Bahauddin Zakariya University (BZU) Multan has officially announced an extension of the summer vacations for the year 2025.

According to the university’s official notification, the decision was made after a meeting of the Deans Committee and other concerned members held on August 18, 2025. The notification clearly mentioned, “Based on the recommendations of the Deans Committee and others during the meeting held on 18.08.2025, the summer vacations for 2025 are extended until September 7, 2025.”

This means that all academic activities at the university will now resume after the first week of September. The notification also clarified that all university hostels, both male and female, will reopen on the same day so that students from other cities can return without facing difficulties.

Earlier, the Punjab government had issued a separate notification regarding revised school timings for all public educational institutions across the province. This was reported by the state-run news agency APP.

According to that notification, all schools are scheduled to reopen on August 15, 2025, following the conclusion of the summer break. To ensure smooth operations during the hot weather, the government has introduced new timings for schools.

For single-shift schools, the classes will start from 7:30 AM to 1:00 PM from Monday to Thursday, while on Fridays, schools will close earlier at 11:30 AM.

For double-shift schools, the timings are slightly different. The morning shift will run from 7:30 AM to 1:00 PM between Monday and Thursday, and on Fridays, it will end at 11:30 AM. The evening shift will begin at 2:00 PM and continue until 6:00 PM from Monday to Thursday, while on Fridays, it will be adjusted from 2:30 PM to 5:30 PM.

The revised school timings have been introduced to make sure that the academic process runs smoothly after the summer holidays. At the same time, the schedule takes into account the extreme weather conditions, the comfort of students, and the overall management of schools across Punjab.

This move by both BZU Multan and the Punjab government highlights a coordinated effort to balance students’ academic responsibilities with their health and safety during the hot summer months.
