BISE Rawalpindi Cancels 11th Class History of Islam Paper – New Date Announced

The Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) Rawalpindi has officially canceled the History of Islam paper for HSSC Part-I (11th class) after students raised strong objections. The reason? The paper included several questions that were not part of the approved syllabus, creating confusion and stress among students.

On the day of the exam, students from multiple examination centers across Rawalpindi complained that many of the questions in the paper were unfamiliar and not covered in their textbooks or classroom lessons. This led to frustration and panic among candidates, who immediately informed the invigilators and supervising staff.

As the issue gained attention during the exam itself, examiners alerted BISE officials without delay. Understanding the seriousness of the problem and to ensure students are treated fairly, BISE decided to cancel the exam on the same day.

According to board spokesperson Arslan Cheema, the decision was taken to protect students’ future and uphold the fairness of the examination process. “We want all students to be assessed based on what they were taught. That is why we chose to cancel the paper and reschedule it,” he said.

New Exam Date Announced

The board has now announced that the rescheduled History of Islam paper will take place on Tuesday, June 17, in the morning session (first group). The exam will be held at the same examination centers, and students will appear using their existing roll numbers.

Roll Number Slips and Instructions

For regular students, new roll number slips have been uploaded to their school portals. School staff can download them for distribution.

Private candidates can download their slips from the official BISE Rawalpindi website, and they will also receive a physical copy through postal mail. However, the board clarified that even the previously issued roll number slips will still be valid, so students can use those if needed.

Students are strongly advised to reach their exam centres on time and must bring their roll number slips with them to avoid any issues.

While many students have appreciated BISE’s quick and fair response, the incident has sparked fresh concerns among parents and educators. They are now questioning the board’s exam preparation process and how such serious errors could happen in the first place.

Several education experts have suggested that stronger oversight and regular checks of question papers are needed to avoid similar problems in the future.
