In today’s match of ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 CWC Bangladesh cricket team will look to return to winning ways after two consecutive defeats when they face a depleted Sri Lanka cricket team in their fourth World Cup game at the Bristol Cricket Ground. On the other hand, Sri Lanka led by Dimuth Karunaratne will look to put another brilliant performance after they recovered from 10-wicket thrashing from the hands of New Zealand in their tournament opener. They defeated Afghanistan in a rain curtailed match in their second world cup match. However, the forecast for today’s match may not be a good news for the fans as there is a 90 per cent chance of rain on match day. In recent head to head comparisons, Bangladesh and Sri lanka have won two matches each in 4 encounters
Sri Lanka
Nuwan Pradeep dislocated a finger in training on Sunday and will miss the match as he recovers. In the absence of another fast-bowler in the squad, he could be replaced by spin bowling all-rounder Jeevan Mendis, who played against New Zealand. Kusal Perera, who scored 78 opening against Afghanistan after batting at three against New Zealand, is expected to do the same again.
Bangladesh could replace Mohammad Mithun with Liton Das in the middle order. In addition to that, they could include seamer Rubel Hossain in place of Mehidy Hasan, if opting for three seamers, or Mohammad Saifuddin. Hossain averages just 13 with the ball against Sri Lanka since the last World Cup and Saifuddin conceded 78 runs from nine overs against England although he has picked up six wickets in the three games to date. Shakib could also be a doubt with a quad strain but indications are he will play.
