Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue, Muhammad Aurangzeb, has shared disappointing news for government employees. He announced that there are no plans to increase salaries or pensions in the upcoming financial year.
In a written statement to the National Assembly, the finance minister clearly stated that the government has no intention of raising the pay scales or allowances for federal employees. “There is no proposal under consideration to increase the salaries of government employees in the next fiscal year,” he confirmed.
He also mentioned that there are no plans to change the pension system for retired government employees. However, the government is reviewing policies related to hiring and ceiling allowances for employees. The Finance Ministry also noted that they are thinking about increasing the limit for renting private houses for government employees.
The Finance Division further confirmed that pension increases for retired employees are not being considered.
This news is disappointing for many government employees who were hoping for a salary or pension increase, especially with the rising cost of living and ongoing economic difficulties.
