Asia Cup 2025 Schedule to Be Announced Soon, Tournament Set for UAE

The wait is nearly over! The much-anticipated Asia Cup 2025 is finally moving forward, with the official match schedule expected to be announced within the next 24 to 48 hours.

According to reports from international media, the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) has resolved the final commercial and logistical issues that had delayed the announcement. If all goes according to plan, the tournament will take place from September 10 to 28, and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) is the most likely host country.

For several months, the tournament’s future remained uncertain. Behind the scenes, intense negotiations were taking place. One of the key moments was a tense ACC meeting held in Dhaka earlier this week. The meeting was held under pressure due to ongoing geopolitical issues, especially involving India, Pakistan, and Bangladesh. Despite the challenges, the meeting ended positively, with all members agreeing that the Asia Cup must go ahead as planned.

Although India is officially listed as the host under the ACC’s rotation system, the actual matches will not be played there. Instead, the UAE cities of Dubai and Abu Dhabi will host the games, similar to the hybrid hosting model used in recent editions. This approach was chosen to manage political tensions and logistical concerns, especially between India and Pakistan.

The 2025 Asia Cup will be played in the T20 format, which fits perfectly with preparations for the upcoming ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026, set to be co-hosted by India and Sri Lanka.

A total of eight teams will compete in the 2025 Asia Cup. These teams are divided into two groups:

  • Group A: India, Pakistan, UAE, and Hong Kong
  • Group B: Sri Lanka, Afghanistan, Bangladesh, and Oman

The tournament will consist of 19 matches. The format includes a group stage, followed by a Super Four round, and finally, the grand final, where the top two teams will compete for the title.

While most of the planning is complete, the final confirmation of the schedule is still pending. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is reviewing the last few commercial agreements with its sponsors and partners. Once everything is finalized, the ACC will officially release the full schedule, which will be shared through its media platforms.

Even though the planning faced many obstacles, things now seem to be on the right track. Cricket fans across Asia and beyond are looking forward to this exciting tournament. The Asia Cup has always been a major event, bringing intense rivalries and thrilling matches. The 2025 edition promises to continue that legacy and deliver top-quality T20 cricket.

Stay tuned as we wait for the official announcement—and get ready for another unforgettable chapter in Asian cricket!
