All courts across Punjab, including the Lahore High Court (LHC) and its lower courts, will stay closed from Friday, June 6 to Monday, June 9, 2025, in observance of Eid-ul-Azha. This announcement was made through an official notification approved by Chief Justice Aalia Neelum.
The closure applies to all courts in major cities like Lahore, Multan, Rawalpindi, and Bahawalpur, as well as smaller districts throughout the province. During these four days, no hearings or court proceedings will take place, and all judicial activities will be put on hold to allow staff and officials to celebrate the religious festival with their families.
All courts, including the Lahore High Court, sessions courts, and civil courts, are expected to reopen on Tuesday, June 10, 2025, and regular court proceedings will resume from that day onward.
This decision aligns with the earlier announcement by the federal government, which also declared Eid-ul-Azha holidays across the country.
According to the federal notification, public holidays will be observed on June 6, 7, 8, and 9 (Friday to Monday). These holidays apply to both public and private offices, regardless of whether they follow a five-day or six-day working schedule.
The holidays have been given so that people across Pakistan can celebrate Eid-ul-Azha, one of the most important Islamic festivals, which involves prayers, family gatherings, and the tradition of Qurbani (sacrifice of animals).
Citizens are advised to complete any urgent court-related matters before the holidays begin, as services will not be available during the break.
