ACC Confirms New Match Timings for Asia Cup 2025 in UAE

The Asian Cricket Council (ACC) has officially announced a big change in the match timings for the upcoming Asia Cup 2025, and almost every game of the tournament will now begin at a new schedule. This adjustment comes as part of the organizers’ effort to make matches more convenient for fans at the stadiums in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and also to ensure better TV viewership across South Asia.

Out of the 19 matches, a total of 18 games will now begin at 6:30 p.m. local time in the UAE. According to officials, this time slot has been chosen carefully, as evening matches in Dubai and Abu Dhabi are expected to bring in more crowds at the venues while also giving fans back home in countries like Pakistan, India, Sri Lanka, and Bangladesh the perfect prime-time slot to enjoy the action.

For cricket lovers in Pakistan, this new schedule means that matches will start at 7:30 p.m. (local time), instead of the earlier 7:00 p.m. PST. This half-hour shift may seem small, but it is expected to attract bigger TV audiences since most people will be free from work or school by then, making it a family-friendly viewing hour.

However, there is one special exception to this revised schedule. The group-stage match between the United Arab Emirates and Oman, which will take place on Monday, September 15, at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi, will remain a day game. That clash is scheduled to begin at 4:00 p.m. local time, making it the only afternoon fixture of the entire tournament.

The Asia Cup 2025, to be played in the T20 format, will run from September 9 to September 28. The matches will be shared between two world-class venues: the Dubai International Stadium and the Zayed Cricket Stadium in Abu Dhabi. Both grounds are known for hosting high-profile matches and creating thrilling atmospheres for fans.

The new timings have also added more excitement for viewers who are eagerly waiting for the blockbuster India vs Pakistan clash on September 14. This highly anticipated encounter will now take place in the evening prime-time slot, ensuring massive stadium attendance in the UAE and record-breaking television viewership across Asia.

Overall, the ACC’s decision to reschedule match timings seems to be a strategic move to maximize fan engagement both inside the stadiums and at home. With evening starts, cooler weather, and prime-time broadcasts, Asia Cup 2025 promises not just high-quality cricket but also the best possible experience for fans.
