The Malaysia International Scholarship (MIS) 2025 is now open for applications. This scholarship is offered by the Government of Malaysia to attract bright and talented international students who wish to study in Malaysia. It allows students to pursue Master’s and PhD programs at some of the top universities in Malaysia.

The good news is that you don’t need an IELTS test to apply for this scholarship. There is also no application fee. Students from various academic backgrounds and degree programs are welcome to apply.

MIS 2025 supports studies at selected Malaysian universities only. This includes 20 public universities and 4 private universities. It’s a wonderful opportunity to study in a peaceful country, experience Malaysian culture, and receive a world-class education.

Financial Benefits of the MIS 2025

The scholarship provides the following support:

  • Full Tuition Fees – The scholarship will pay your tuition fees directly to the university for the entire duration of your program.
  • Monthly Living Allowance – You will receive RM 1,500 per month to cover your basic living expenses. In Malaysia, you can manage your monthly expenses well with even RM 700–800, so this amount is quite sufficient for most students.

Who Can Apply? – Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for the Malaysia International Scholarship, you must:

  • Be a citizen of one of the eligible countries listed above.
  • Apply for a full-time Master’s or PhD program at one of the eligible Malaysian universities.
  • Age Limit:
    • No older than 40 years for Master’s degree applicants.
    • No older than 45 years for PhD applicants.
  • IELTS is not required. You can apply without taking the test.
  • Acceptance Letter: You don’t need to have an offer letter from the university at the time of applying.
